Here is one of the finished products of today's early morning light chasing session with at Sampaloc Lake in San Pablo City, Laguna. Will try to do other processing methods to come up with alternative looks to this image. For this one, I chose to process the trails in reverse comet mode. I figured the downward direction looks more appealing than upward shooting strokes.
Anyways... We were aiming either to do star trails or capture the milky way. It just so happened that the rare alignments of planets also appear in the east, so they would just be there among the stars that we were shooting. Too bad the light pollution from the city and the circcumference of the lake is just too strong, plus the full moon setting in the west, seems like too much for us to capture the milkyway rising from the eastern horizon. So, I guess, achieving one out of two targets ain't that bad. Plus, we still had the golden sunrise after a few hours of shooting in the dark.
Oh! By the way, I did manage to capture the aforementioned planets... See that dark orange star trail just to the right of Mt. Banahaw? That, I think, is the planet Venus!
