Taking a short break from cityscapes/nightscapes... Now for some street and action!
I have been amazed by the skaters that trash a small corner along Ayala Ave and Makati Ave as I happen to pass by them every night from work. I've been wanting to shoot them but I was always on a jeepney along the busy thoroughfare. I actually want to shoot in a skate park where I can use speedlights. But we don't have that here in the Philippines, aside from the recently-opened skate park in Cebu.
Last night, on my way home, I had to walk from the office all the way to Ayale Center Makati. I had my camera and my UWA lens with me, and so when I passed by this place, I just had this urge to take a few photos of them. I asked for their permission and they happily obliged. I found out after that this guy Victor Alora had been in the skating scene for quite sometime and he is a frequent model of Fuji X-tographer and Street Photography master Rommel Bundalian.
I am quite happy with my first photo of a skater, but I would still want to shoot with strobes! :)
